From Student to Teacher

Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog 🙂 I’m still experimenting with blogging since it’s my first time, but I’m loving it so far.. so here goes!

I have always known that I wanted to go into a profession that involved helping people, but it wasn’t until coming to college, that I realized that I had a passion for teaching. Ever since I was in middle school, I would frequently be at school tutoring, babysitting, or working at an English school on Saturdays. I was basically always at school except on Sundays and Holidays, when they would lock the doors (and even then I would sometimes sneak into the school with my friends). Through taking different classes, experiencing various jobs, and contemplating life on several occasions (mostly everyday), I realized that my passion lies within education and that I want to become a teacher one day!

So why start a blog you might ask? I figured blogging would be a great way to explore some of the ideas that I have for my future classroom, as well as an opportunity to share with you some things that I learn from my everyday experiences at school and work! My posts will mostly be comprised of discussing ideas about teaching and reviewing assignments from my education classes.

Andy Rooney once said, “Most of us end up with no more than five or six people who remember us. Teachers have thousands of people who remember them from the rest of their lives.” My hope as a teacher is to create a bond with each of my students so that they remember me, but also to make a difference in their lives. A teacher is a source of encouragement, hope, knowledge, joy, fun, creativity, and inspiration! I hope to be all of these things for my students.

I hope you enjoy my posts and please let me know if you have any suggestions for my blog. Thanks again for reading! 🙂
